What we saw at Jantar Mantar is not new in so called ” New India”. Anti Muslim slogans in posh and high security zone is matter of concern. It is more serious as this is being happened in capital of country. Anti Muslim feelings and hatred are at highest peak in the country. Violent Islamophobic sloganeering is not new to Delhi. The sloganeering and the sustained hate campaign had led to Delhi’s Pogrom of 2020.
The failure of the judicial system and the police patronage to the criminals of 2020, is what is causing outrage this time. The 2020 challenge to take law in their hands was done by a “pro-CAA” group led by Kapil Mishra and the BJP officials of North West Delhi. The collusion of the police led to three SITs not naming any of them, despite their profiles and confessions doing rounds on social and digital media.

Kapil Mishra, Ashwini Upadhayaya and the rest of the crowd that called for #8AugustDelhiChalo, owe their loyalty to Narsinghanand. It was the Yati’s statements that were repeated at Jantar Mantar. The rise of these groups and the absence of rule of law is the reason for the outrage.
Though some persons arrested by the police and FIR filed by the authorities but Indian authorities must ensure that there is no impunity for those responsible for Anti Muslim slogans and other hate crimes against Muslims at Jantar Mantar. There are videos of Upadhayaya calling for a genocide in the Delhi Chalo campaign, yet he is not seen as a threat by law enforcing agencies. According to last reports, Upadhayaya was detained but not arrested. Even if arrested and tried and found guilty, he will serve a maximum of 5 years of imprisonment.
Unfortunately but not unexpectedly, the PM, Home Minister and the rest of the cabinet have kept mum about this chain of events. The silence of the AAP government in Delhi too is not surprising. Despite calls for a statement, the entire cadre of AAP has shifted underground. They are likely to emerge after any violence has erupted to blame the BJP and the Muslims. If violence does take place, a pattern would be established. Hate narratives created, hate speeches, violence and police impunity. All this will be followed with the arrest of muslims.
Whipping up communal and social passions and winning elections has happened in the past in India and BJP is trying to re-enact the same once again with hopes of winning through successfully, specially coming UP election. The current call for genocide is to be understood in the context of the UP elections. There is a possibility that Yati is either seeking the CM’s post or is ensuring that the issue of communalism overshadows the failure of the government in Covid handling. With shaky electoral possibilities and no area in UP that has not witnessed violence in the last 5 years, BJP may seek violence in areas around UP (including NCR) for electoral gains.
The pattern of hate crimes committed against Muslims with seeming impunity – many of them in states where the Bharatiya Janata Party is in power – is deeply worrying. Unfortunately both the Prime Minister and various Chief Ministers have done little to show that they disapprove of this violence.
This growing trend of Islamophobia needs to be stopped in its tracks. The Indian Prime Minister, senior BJP leaders and Chief Ministers must break their silence and unequivocally condemn the Anti Muslim slogans and attacks. Various state police departments must ensure that those responsible are brought to justice. (this can include all political parties)
In such critical situation, Muslim political parties should guide Muslim Ummah, as to How they should react in a specific situation? Owaisi brothers talk boldly but its benefits are mostly reaped by Sangh Parivar. If we honestly, analyze, the history of all political parties in India, both regional and National, we would find stains of Muslim blood on each one of them including DMK in TN.
Any ordinary person knows very well that we can easily douse engulfed fire with water. But the action of a fireman would be totally different because he was specifically trained to deal with several manifestations of fire, so before any action, firemen would first analyze, what kind of fire is it? According he will action because you can’t douse electric short circuit fire with water?
Many Muslim organizations are working for the welfare of Muslim Ummah, please guide them seriously, How they should react in a specific situation? What they should do? What they should not do? None of our actions / reactions should ever go in favour of Sangh parivar. it is actually trying very hard to sow the seeds of hatred for Muslims in the hearts of ordinary non-Muslims. Every Muslim organization, both political and non-political is duty bound to closely monitor situation and offer constructive guidance for the Muslim Ummah. This is the need of the hour. A political party has greater responsibility and accountability in the court of Allah.
Indian Muslim leadership doesn’t have a long-te agenda for the development of the community in the country. Most of them continue to hog limelight thanks to a plethora of emotive issues that continue to arise every now and then. At the time when the community seems to be at the crossroads of history, faced with umpteen challenges, the Muslim leaders continue to parrot the decades old issues that threw them into the limelight. They seem to be living in a time warp with blinders put on their eyes. Both of them don’t allow them to see the world with reality. One forces them to think as they did in the past, while the other didn’t allow them to see anything realistically.
Even if the leadership is looking for historical precedence, they should look to the hadith rather than the history of the expansion of Islam. The prophet fought bigger battles with smaller armies, and guided them to victory. Rather than the successful generals or the former rulers of India, the Muslim leadership need to learn how to adapt according to the times and situation.
There is enough support within the country from those who are not Muslim. It was the left women who filed the FIRs in the Jantar Mantar case. The leadership needs to sift between allies and enemies, and then guide the masses.

At the time Muslim leadership is in deep slumber. Muslims should fight against hatred according to law of land. Legal fight is the only way to control RSS mania against Muslim community. Generally Indian Muslims are law abiding. Mr. Modi, Are you listening?
