Instead of the customary November 1 deadline, senior central government pensioners 80 years of age and beyond can now submit their Annual Life Certificate starting on October 1.
To keep collecting their pensions, all central government pensioners must submit an annual life certificate in November.
In order to provide senior residents who are 80 years of age or older with an additional opportunity, the government has also allowed them to submit for their yearly life certificate starting on October 1.
What is Jeevan Pramaan?
Pensioners can use Jeevan Pramaan, an Aadhaar-based, biometric-enabled Digital Life Certificate recognized by the IT Act, to demonstrate their existence prior to the pension authorities.
How can I use facial authentication to submit my Digital Life Certificate?
- Make sure your smartphone has internet access and a front camera with at least 5 megapixels.
- Verify that the pension disbursing authority—which could be the bank, post office, or another—has your Aadhaar number recorded. A valid VID or Aadhaar number is required to obtain a Digital Life Certificate.
- Get “AadhaarFaceRD” and “Jeevan Pramaan Face App” from the Google Play Store, then install them.
- Complete the operator verification process and look at the operator’s face.
- Complete all of the retiree’s fields.
- Utilizing the front camera, snap a picture and upload it.
Your cellphone number will receive an SMS including a link to obtain the Jeevan Pramaan Digital Life Certificate. Download it and submit it.
When is the Annual Life Certificate deadline?
The deadline for submitting an Annual Life Certificate is typically November 30th, unless the government extends this period.
Senior pensioners who are 80 years of age or more will still be able to use their life certificate until November 30, 2024, even if they submit it on October 1, 2024.
If the life certificate is not turned in until November, what will happen?
If the life certificate is not provided, the pension payments will be terminated.
But only if the life certificate is filed within three years. If the life certificate is filed in a later month, pension payments will start up again, and the pensioner will get payment for any arrears up to that point.
If a Life Certificate is not presented for three years or more, the pension will start as soon as the CPAO grants approval, in accordance with due process.
