Maulana Naseeruddin, Champion of Muslim rights laid to rest in Hyderabad

 Hyderabad: Maluana Mohammed Naseeruddin, cleric and President Wahdat-e-Islami passed away today in Hyderabad today morning after a short period of illness of about 10 days. He was laid to rest at 2 pm at the graveyard adjacent to Eidgah Ujale Shah Saheb.
 
Maulana Naseeruddin was respected by all civil rights and human rights activists in Hyderabad and well known throughout India and even at international level. He fought for the rights of the oppressed Muslims from the last 28 years whether it was in Hyderabad, Gujrat or Syria. 
 
He was fearless and vocal in his speeches and led many protests against injustices. He was the first person to organise a protest in Hyderabad when the Babri Masjid was demolished in 1992. 
 
When he spoke up against the Government for the Gujarat pogrom in 2002, he was arrested on false charges of instigating the killers of Hiren Pandya and was imprisoned for five  years. His advanced age and ailments were not considered by the inhuman police. However he was later acquitted.
 
In order to prevent his fight against the government, his family was also made to suffer. His three sons were also arrested and jailed in Gujarat under false charges.
Maulana memorised the holy Quran while in jail for five  years. After his release he took up his work again. He spoke out against the injustices against the people of Syria, Palestine and other places in the world.
He was brave, fearless and always stood up against any injustice and had a massive following especially among the youth in Hyderabad. He was respected and loved by many. 
 
He was multi-talented being an orator, motivator, organiser, preacher a leader and an Islamic scholar. His life was chequered with struggles and challenges due to the charges levied against him by the government. 
 
The police used to take him into preventive arrest whenever they got a hint that the Maulana was about to protest or submit a petition to demand for justice. 
During the recent Anti-CAA protests also he was very active. 
 
He will be remembered as a leader who inspired everyone to speak out against injustices and for his services to the Muslim community. Maulana Mohammed Naseeruddin was 70 years.
