MSME sector is poised to become growth engine of Uttar Pradesh

 Working on the ‘mantra’ of employment and self-reliance for youths, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s emphasis on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) sector has borne fruits. Exploring all possibilities of employment at the local level for the youths at low capital and minimum risk, the Uttar Pradesh government has developed an ecosystem that aims to ensure employment to around one crore persons by providing loans to 20 lakh MSME units by March 2021.

Stating this an en event at Ram Manohar Lohia Awadh University in Ayodhya on Thursday, Navneet Sehgal, Additional Chief Secretary, MSME, and Export Promotion, said that MSME sector is poised to become growth engine in terms of providing jobs, self employment and inturn give boost to the economy of the state which was taken care of well even the trying times of Corona.

“The MSME sector has been a major booster besides overall growth of industrialisation and implementation of infrastructure projects. by March 2021, the government will be giving loans to 20 lakh MSME units through which the employment for one crore people can be generated,’’ he said. 
Speaking as the main speaker at the event organised by Taleem-o’Tarbiat said,” Every man is an entrepreneur in himself. All people need to do is change the thinking that any work is small and has business traits within themselves. If a person has ideas, training, and capital, then anyone can start a business. The idea could be about Oyo Room or products of ODOP but if you work according to your idea then you will be able to give employment to people.” The ACS, MSME asserted that the UP government is providing loans on easy terms and conditions and the entrepreneurs with feasible project ideas can come for loans and get them easily as the government is facilitating the same through banks.
Rupinder Brar, additional director general of the ministry of tourism, spoke about the employment generation potential of the tourism sector. He said that once the Covid-19 pandemic would over and when various ongoing projects being implemented by the government would complete, this capacity would be augmented. “The Central and state governments will work together to make Ayodhya the most beautiful city in the world which will attract tourists from all over,” he said.
 Vice-Chancellor of Avadh University Ravi Shankar Singh laid stress on the need for financial literacy. He said that financial literacy is a new type of educational revolution and Uttar Pradesh needs to move in this direction. Event organiser Zafar Sareshwala agreed with Singh, adding: “Here, even well-educated people are financially illiterate.
