In the Super Four round of the 2023 Asia Cup, India crushed Pakistan, which was captained by Babar Azam, by 228 runs.

Former Pakistan captain and chairman of the cricket board Ramiz Raja has counseled the men in green to get past the defeat against India and regroup for a critical match against Sri Lanka. India rolled to a record 228-run victory against Pakistan in the Super Four round of the Asia Cup.

India defeated Pakistan by bowling them out for 128 runs after setting a target of 357 runs, recording its largest victory margin over its longtime foes.

Since that match, Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah have been unable to play due to injury, which has negatively impacted Pakistan’s bowling. This has just made the crushing loss worse and might have lowered the team’s spirits.

Raja, however, has urged that Pakistan should look for the positive in the gloom, concentrate on getting over the setback, and come back reenergized for the crucial match against the Islanders. He also counseled Babar Azam and company to shun criticism and avoid social media.

“India’s victory over Sri Lanka has offered Pakistan a glimmer of hope. We’ll now have to wait and watch if Pakistan can benefit from that or if their morale will be low following their loss to India. They have a reserve day, they need to take a break from the game, and they need to mentally disconnect. They have a good two-day break coming up during which they shouldn’t consider cricket or the loss, but rather come together and chat instead, according to Raja on his official YouTube channel.

“Anyone who needs extra practice can get it. Visit a pool and unwind. Avoid using social media and avoid watching television. Nothing good will happen there since everyone in Pakistan is disappointed. Get on board. After such defeats, especially ones against India, you point fingers at one another. That must not occur. The objective of Babar Azam now is to reassure his teammates and raise the team’s spirits before the Sri Lanka match. I’m confident he has united this team very effectively.
