UP Police Constable Exam 2024: Dates Announced: UP Police Constable Exam Dates 2024: The written examination for the recruitment of 60,244 police constables will henceforth be held on August 23, 24, 25, 30, and 31, senior police officials announced in Lucknow on Thursday.
The exam was previously held in four shifts on February 17 and 18, 2024, with over 48 lakh hopefuls participating, but it was cancelled by the state government on February 24 after the question paper was leaked. The government directed that the exam be repeated within six months.
In a press statement issued on Thursday, officials stated that the board is taking all precautions to ensure the examination’s sanctity and conduct it in a totally transparent manner. The UP Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Bill, 2024 was notified by the state government on June 21. The bill imposes up to five years’ imprisonment and a fine of up to ₹1 crore for malpractices and organised cheating in government recruitment exams.
The officials stated that the delay between the written examinations was kept in mind due to the Janmashtami holiday on August 26th.
Previously, 178 FIRs were filed in 41 districts throughout Uttar Pradesh in response to the question paper leak in February of this year. Moreover, at least 400 persons, including the two masterminds of the paper leak, Rajiv Nayan Mishra and Ravi Attri, were arrested in Gautam Buddh Nagar.
