Bengaluru CEO Proposes Solution for City’s Traffic Woes: Bengaluru’s evolution into India’s IT centre attracted hordes of workers to the Karnataka capital. Decades later, fissures are starting to show. Any local can see that Bengaluru’s infrastructure is woefully inadequate to handle the city’s population growth. Nowhere is this more visible than in the city’s notorious traffic congestion.

Bengaluru, possibly more than any other Indian city today, faces severe traffic congestion every day. Rapid urbanisation, bad design, and a lack of public transport choices are just a few of the reasons why the city’s roads get congested during peak rush hours.

In light of this, a Bengaluru-based CEO wants to steal a concept from China to help citizens deal with traffic. Serial entrepreneur Paras Chopra shared a screenshot of a news item explaining how commuters stuck in traffic in Beijing can ask for a’rescue.’

According to the story, in Beijing, you may pay $60 to have someone rescue you from traffic. One person will come to your place and pick you up on a motorbike, while another will drive your car back.

“Bangalore founders, drop that SaaS idea and build this instead,” Chopra commented while posting the story on the social media platform X.

Social Media Reacts

X users were amused by his concept, while some claimed it would never work in traffic as crazy as Bengaluru’s.

“Best startup idea,” remarked Debonkar, the founder of GoToGrowth.

X user Sankalp had a more balanced response: “Here’s a potential business idea for major cities, however the primary challenge is developing a trust-based framework. However, insurance firms may intervene by establishing a new insurance section.”

“Indians are just too price-sensitive lol. Will remain in gridlock for three hours rather than spend a thousand rupees to be rescued,” one user predicted.

Another wrote, “Except you’ll be stuck on a motorbike instead.”

At least one person stated that they have previously exploited this hack: “I’ve done this several times in Bangalore. “Very enjoyable; simply book an Uber.”
