I’ve always thought of Samsung’s Fold phones as the Note series’ heir, catering to business users who want more screen real estate to access spreadsheets, validate documents, and consume media on the go. In that regard, the Fold6 is also a phone at the top of the food chain, especially now that the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 SM8650-AC chipset inside is more recent.This is powerful enough to let you search the web, listen to music on YouTube, and work on a spreadsheet all at once. Naturally, if you plan to purchase the S-Pen separately and get a case that keeps it near to your phone, you may use it with the Google Sheet as well.
Samsung had long since made sure that there were no camera compromises with the Fold phones. With the possible exception of being able to perform a 100x digital zoom like the S24, the Fold6 is essentially the same camera as the previous model. Nevertheless, it is a clicker that performs all typical consumers would expect from it. In most cases, I thought the phone’s camera was of Samsung caliber, producing images that looked good even on the bigger screen.
But this camera can reach to new heights with some AI-driven magic. After taking a picture, you can crop, resize, and even remove or move subjects. For example, with the use of the AI button, I was able to make my 65-inch TV appear to be a 100-inch screen. It’s also a nice feature to be able to long-press any video to obtain a slow-motion version of it. Although I don’t think typical users will need to use these functions frequently, they are nonetheless useful to have in your toolkit.
Camera enhancers may not be as helpful as other AI features, such as automatic transcription from audio recordings, translations between apps, and the capacity to summarize any text. These tools are beneficial to the business community as a whole. The phone also has a lot of AI-driven personalization, including themes and randomly generated home screen graphics. The ability to use my images on the home screen to adjust to the local weather was something I really enjoyed about the photo ambient mode.
Whatever you do, the battery easily lasts a day, so you don’t need to worry about it. On the other hand, by the time night falls, you probably will be searching for a charger if you use the unfolded screen all the time. I could just use my desk’s wireless charger to quickly charge my phone.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6: is it worth buying?
I believe that most people still choose the Samsung Fold series because of its exceptional performance and faultless huge screen, even with all the AI. Samsung has maintained the Fold6’s advantage over the competition in this regard, in part because it is the only model that supports a stylus. The AI functions are fantastic additions, but I would have preferred it if Samsung could have made substantial advancements in the UI’s comprehension of the user’s context and personality via AI. Nevertheless, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 demonstrates that it has the advantage of having produced foldables for longer than any of the competitors, despite the intense rivalry that has entered the market. Why doesn’t Samsung promote this more as a business phone, the Note series’ replacement, or even a potential BlackBerry?
