The Delhi High Court will consider a petition to change the schedule of the CA test today. Today, April 8, the Delhi High Court will consider a petition for a reexamination of the Chartered Accountants (CA) exams.
The intermediate and final CA exams are scheduled for May by the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAI). Candidates for the CA have been pleading with ICAI to postpone the 2024 CA intermediate and final exams to June, citing worries that they would fall during the 18th Lok Sabha general elections.
The May 3, 5, and 9 tests for CA intermediate group 1 have been rescheduled from May 7, and the May 11, 15, and 17 exams for group 2 have been rescheduled from May 9, 11, and 13. Group 1 will take place on May 2, 4, and 8 (instead of May 6) and group 2 will take place on May 10, 14, and 16 (instead of May 8, 10, and 12) for the CA Final exams.
In order to prevent any conflicts with the impending Lok Sabha elections, ICAI made this decision.
Nonetheless, candidates for the California Bar Association voice their displeasure with the revised exam schedule and support deferring the inter and final exams until June in light of the upcoming elections. Anubha Srivastava Sahai, a child activist, is assisting the CA students in taking this matter to court.
In light of the persistent pleas and difficulties faced by CA candidates, we have petitioned the Delhi High Court to reschedule the exams from May to June 2024. On Monday, HC is most likely to hear it.
Hey CA students, get back to studying. The Court is now debating the matter. On X, attorney Alakh Alok Srivastava said, “Let the Court decide.”
The dates of the CA foundation level test are June 20, 22, 24, and 26. The CA Institute recently announced that it is going to move the CA Foundation and Inter examinations from their traditional biannual schedule to three times a year.
The Foundation and Intermediate levels of this new exam pattern will be tested first, while the CA Final exam will continue to be administered biannually in accordance with its current tradition. After the May exams end this year, ICAI is anticipated to put this modification into effect.
