Cristiano Ronaldo believes that the Saudi Pro League should be ranked in the “top 3 or 4” leagues worldwide. The Saudi Pro League has the support of legendary football player Cristiano Ronaldo to grow into one of the best leagues globally.

Ronaldo left Manchester United in November 2022 after his contract was terminated by “mutual agreement.“

Ronaldo’s deal was set to end in June 2023, but after he attacked the team, its owners, and manager in an interview with Piers Morgan, things took a bad turn.

Ronaldo left United and went to work for Al Nassr. In the current SPL season, Ronaldo has netted 20 goals in 18 games. The 39-year-old acknowledged the tournament’s expansion and added that he had no regrets about moving to the Middle East.

“I think they’re going to be in the top three or four [leagues] globally, and we’re going to get there gradually.” I believed that moving to Saudi Arabia would be beneficial for me. Why not use my passion for football to give another country an opportunity to transform its mindset?

“Things change—football regulations, the globe, and everything in between. Everything is subject to change. I made a wise move by moving. I’m overjoyed that so many players, directors, coaches, and even nutritionists are relocating there.

The Saudis are currently involved. It will take a while, but like they say in life, you have to go step by step in order to get to the top,” Ronaldo remarked.

Al Nassr, with 46 points from 19 games, is presently ranked second in the rankings. They trail Al-Hilal, who field players like Ruben Neves, Neymar, and Aleksandar Mitrovic, by just seven points.

The next matchup between Al Nassr and Shanghai Shenhua is set for Wednesday, January 24 at the Shenzhen City Stadium.
