Authors are invited by UGC to develop books for UG courses in twelve Indian languages.

Authors, critics, and faculty members of universities are asked to submit Expressions of Interest to the University Grants Commission in order to develop textbooks in twelve Indian languages for undergraduate courses in the social sciences, sciences, arts, and business.

Applications to write books in Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu are being accepted by the commission.Authors are invited by UGC to develop books for UG courses in twelve Indian languages.

“UGC is in the process of producing undergraduate science, arts, commerce, and social science textbooks in twelve Indian languages.

A senior UGC official stated, “We are designating nodal universities in various states that would oversee the endeavor of assembling teams of writers capable of producing textbooks of superior quality in Indian languages.

“This effort is in tune with NEP 2020’s goal to provide learning opportunities to students in universities in Indian languages,” said the official. Writers who are interested in participating may submit their Expression of Interest and acceptance to the commission by January 30.

“The candidates must choose which course and which language they will write the book in in addition to the specifics. Individuals can also offer the tentative title of the planned book which is not essential,” the official stated.
