Their contribution cannot by negated or white washed, as is being done.

For the different nations and communities of the World to live together , in peace, and cooperation and needless to say in a state of peaceful coexistence, it is imperative only that they obtained an adequate understanding of each other’s culture, heritage and the great things they have done in the past, and, so forth, but also learnt to love and appreciate them and to hold them as precious and worthy of encouragement and preservation. It is therefore the reason to understand past history and civilisation which includes fine art.
The strangeness and ignorance in spite of the fact that the two communities have been living with each other for hundreds of years and participating unitedly in various tasks of life is a serious drawback which should be felt strongly and removed with out further delay. Unity, trust and harmony among the diverse elements that go to make the Indian people, which are a pre-requisite of national intergration and progress. , cannot be produced till we remained unaware of each other’s spiritual and emotional make-up, history and social background and the possibilities we hold for the future of India.
The tragedy ,however, is not confined only to ignorance. What is worse and more disconcerting is that there has got created in India a very powerful tendency to black-out and reject history and cultural stock of a whole community, its past achievements and the glorious stock of a whole community, its past achievements and glorious contribution it has made. There is afoot a campaign to present the history in a manner as if Muslim era in India was an era of foreign, imperialistic domination; it was devoid of all virtues and greatness. Allaudin Khilji is painted as a mass-murderer, while Akbar is painted like an invader. The TAJ MAHAL , is dubbed as TEJO MANDIR. This type of stereotype stories keep multiplying by the day.
By acting in such a manner we are thoughtlessly depriving the lofty, evergreen tree of India of a rich past and the World is not only laughing upon us but making fun of our so called” HISTORIANS “.
Today, we need to introduce India advantageously and in a more effective manner to the World. The advent of Muslims acted as a challenge to social reformers in other fields also. Pandit JawaharlalNehru has offered the following comments on the uplifting influence exerted by Islam and Muslims on Indian “SOCIAL structure “He adds. … The impact of Muslims had been considerable. It had pointed out and showed the abuse of social abuses that had crept in the society -the petrification of Caste, untouchability, exclusiveness carried to fantastic lengths.
The Muslims in India always gave an irrefutable proof of their devotion to their motherland.
TEN GIFTS OF MUSLIMS TO INDIA.
The noted historian , Sir Jadunath Sircar, has in his work entitled ISLAM IN INDIA,enumerated ten gifts, which, which according to him, the Muslims conferred on India. Some of these are as follows: Establishment of contacts with out side world, political unity and uniformity of culture ,Architecture et all.
DEVELOPMENT OF FRUIT.
In spite of the fertile of its soil , few fruits were grown in India. Most of them were grown wild. The Pathans brought the famous ANNAB E SHAHI grapes from Afghanistan. Babur brought famous Water Melon and Musk Melon from Samarkand and Akbar and Jehangir got Mango. Before the arrival of Moguls, only one variety (Tukmi) was available.
Textile worn in India earlier was coarse. Weaving and textile handloom was introduced by Mahmud Baigrah(1511)
To conclude, I wish to emphasise that economic problem is of utmost importance for democracy and development of any nation. The Muslims are living in India by choice. Their contribution cannot by negated or white washed, as is being done.
It is needless to emphasise how important economic peace and security is to the mental and physical well-being of a citizen. There is nothing more degrading than constant financial distress and anxiety, for individuals as well as COMMUNITIES. Communal discord all that is good and ” noble” in them, distorts their sense of values and breeds in them acute sense of frustration and perpetual feeling of injustice which is not a healthy sign for a democracy.
To summarise, there are many grey areas which need to be addressed. The Muslims have displayed patience and have convincingly given a proof of their worth and merit, and usefulness to the country and the nation.
Now is the turn of the nation to ponder over the priorities. (The author is president of the Muslim Mainstream Movement, Delhi)
Very lucid and timely. The article shows way to integrate India.
This article is a cry of a sincere secularist nationalist.
He cries since those who put the nation in yoke of the British since 1857 resulting in unaccountable miseries to the people of Hindustan and then it’s Partition are back again after 1977 and 1999 due to sychophants, corrupt, hypocrites and traitors in the garb of secularism and progress.
The article high lights the contribution made my Muslimsfor India. Unlike other Invaders the Moghuls conquered and decided to make INDIA their home. They unified the country and under them India’s industrial production was amongst the highest in the world. They brought in Muslim architecture, poetry, and cuisine, blended it with Indian flavour and made it more wholesome than the original. Nothing can surpass the beauty of the Taj, poetry of Mirza Ghalib and Indian Biryani.
