Samit Dravid, the son of Rahul Dravid, is on the India U-19 team: India U-19 and Australia U-19 will play two four-day matches and three 50-over games.
Samit Dravid, the son of former India captain and head coach Rahul Dravid, has been added to the India U-19 squad for their three one-day and two four-day matches against Australia U-19. The four-day games will take place in Chennai, while the 50-over matches will take place in Puducherry.
The 18-year-old all-rounder was in the news just now after hitting an incredible six in the Maharaja T20 KSCA competition. The youthful player, who plays for the Mysore Warriors, has scored 82 runs in seven games, with his greatest total coming against the Gulbarga Mystics with 33.
On Saturday, Samit Dravid will play in the tournament’s second semifinal, when the Mysore Warriors and the Hubli Tigers will square off.
Despite suffering a stress fracture the previous year, Dravid Junior has performed admirably in the home Vinoo Mankad and Cooch Behar tournaments for India’s U-19 team. Samit scored 122 runs in four innings, with 87 of those being his highest, in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy. In the interim, he was instrumental in helping Karnataka win the Cooch Behar Trophy by contributing significantly with the bat and the ball. In eight games, Samit amassed 362 runs with three scores of fifty or more. He also took 16 wickets at an average of 19.31.
