Following SRH’s victory over CSK, the IPL 2024 points table is taking shape: In their IPL 2024 match against Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad won spectacularly by six wickets on Friday in Hyderabad. With four points from four games (two victories and two losses), SRH moved up to fifth place in the standings following the victory. Despite this, CSK managed to hold into third place with four points from four games and a greater net run rate.

Kolkata Knight Riders are undefeated this season and have six points from three games, which puts them atop the IPL 2024 points standings. The second-place, undefeated Rajasthan Royals are in queue behind them. In third place are CSK, while the Lucknow Super Giants are in fourth. Punjab Kings are ranked sixth, and SRH is ranked fifth.

Gujarat Titans, the runners-up from the previous season, are ranked seventh in the standings, with Royal Challengers Bangalore coming in at eighth. On the ten-team IPL 2024 points table, the Delhi Capitals are ranked ninth, while the Mumbai Indians are winless and at the bottom.

After chasing 166, SRH easily reached 166/4 in 18.1 overs thanks to Abhishek Sharma and Aiden Markram’s brilliant batting. With three fours and four sixes in his 37 off of 12 balls, Abhishek dominated the score. With four fours and a six among his 36 deliveries, Markram hammered 50. Moeen Ali claimed two wickets for Chennai’s bowling unit.

At first, CSK reached 165/5 in 20 overs thanks to a 24-ball, 45-run knock by Shivam Dube. With a wicket apiece from Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan, Pat Cummins, Shahbaz Ahmed, and Jaydev Unadkat, the SRH bowlers demonstrated their teamwork.

Player of the Match Abhishek spoke following the game, saying, “We felt the pitch was a little slow in the bowling. We understood that once we activated the powerplay, we could just go with the flow. We have plenty of time to get ready before this IPL. Individually, high scores certainly significant, but today I followed the crowd. My dad, Brian Lara, and Yuvi paaji deserve special recognition for this.”
