NBA: Dejan Milojevic, an assistant coach for the Golden State Warriors, passes away after a heart attack. The heartbreaking news that Golden State Warriors assistant coach Dejan Milojevic passed away was announced by the National Basketball Association (NBA).

The Warriors’ officials announced on Wednesday that the coach, who was born in Belgrade, passed away from a heart attack at a team dinner.

In his third season as a coach with the Golden State Warriors, 46-year-old Milojevic played a pivotal role in guiding the team to the 2022 NBA title.

Milojevic was taken to a Salt Lake City hospital right away on Tuesday after suffering a heart attack at a private team event. Unfortunately, late on Wednesday morning, he went away despite efforts to preserve his life.

Steve Kerr, the head coach of Golden State, said that Melojevic’s passing has devastated the team and referred to him as one of the most optimistic people.

“Dejan’s untimely death has left us completely crushed. For everyone connected to the Warriors, this is a surprising and tragic blow.

His family, friends, and all of us who had the great pleasure of working with him are going through a very trying time. Not only was Dejan an amazing basketball coach, but he was also one of the most optimistic and lovely people I have ever met.

His enthusiasm and drive made every day happier and more bright,” Kerr remarked.

The unexpected “medical emergency in the Warriors family” forced the Warriors to postpone their planned Wednesday matchup against the Utah Jazz. A new date will be revealed later, the NBA has promised.

In December 2019, the Serbian national team, managed by Igor Kokoskov, added Milojevic to their coaching staff in recognition of his abilities.

His 14-year professional basketball career is another noteworthy aspect of his profile. Between 2004 and 2006, Milojevic was awarded the Adriatic League’s Most Valuable Player title three times for his outstanding achievements.
