Rohit Sharma went viral with his kind gesture and handwritten note for an Indore traffic cop.
When India’s captain Rohit Sharma recently visited Indore for the second Twenty20 International against Afghanistan, he left a lasting impression on a local traffic police officer named Ranjeet Singh.
Ranjeet, who was well-known for his moonwalking dancing moves while handling traffic, had already met Rohit and asked for an autograph but was unable to get one because of his work obligations.
This time, Rohit not only recalled the conversation but also went above and beyond to show Ranjeet how much he appreciated her.
The Indian captain signed a note and left it with the team bus driver, asking him to see to it that Ranjeet received it. This gesture has since won the hearts of many.
The traffic cop expressed his gratitude on Facebook, complimenting Rohit Sharma’s humility and said that a player’s excellence is determined by more than just their sportsmanship—it’s also determined by their ability to think compassionately.
“I met India’s skipper, Rohit Sharma ji, on the team’s final visit to Indore. When I asked him for his autograph, I was unable to get him because of work, but the captain recalled this.
This time, on the way, he wrote his love notes and signed his autograph for me. He gave it to the driver, sir, telling him to give it to this insane guy, Ranjeet. Many thanks for your affection, captain sir.

On the pitch, Rohit Sharma’s comeback to the T20I format following the 2022 World Cup has not gone as planned. He suffered a loss in the first two Twenty20 internationals against Afghanistan after consecutive ducks.
However, Rohit still has a chance to reach a significant milestone as a leader if he wins one more match. That would put him beyond MS Dhoni’s record of 41 victories as the Indian skipper with the most T20I victories.
