AI is being used by this company to prevent huge layoffs. The employment industry has been plagued with uncertainty worry for the past 14–15 months.

The question of whether we need humans or AI to replace human occupations has become increasingly important with the rise of AI and organizations creating ABC to support their own artificial and machine learning models."</p

A recent Bloomberg story claims that Deloitte is considering using artificial intelligence to buck the trend of staffer dismissals and employee firings of hundreds or thousands.

According to reports, the corporation is assessing the talents of current workers and developing a strategy to transition people from routine activities to more difficult ones in light of these shifting circumstances.

The assessment is a component of the company’s future recruiting strategy, which calls for gradual expansion.

In addition, thousands of workers have lost their employment as a result of the economic downturn and uncertainty. And the mass layoffs are still going strong. Nevertheless, Deloitte, one of the Big Four consulting firms, is using AI in an attempt to prevent mass layoffs.

The assessment and talent mapping of Deloitte’s workforce comes after the company decided to hire some 130,000 new workers in 2023.

However, in the midst of the massive hiring, the company also issued a warning to its US and UK workers that their positions would be eliminated due to an apparent need to restructure some divisions and business in response to a downturn in demand.

Notably, Deloitte’s implementation of AI in labor management is a part of a larger trend in the business rather than a stand-alone project.

Professional services companies, such as competitors of Deloitte, have started experimenting with generative AI to automate laborious and repetitive tasks that are typically delegated to junior staff members.

Generative AI systems, like ChatGPT, are streamlining tasks like compiling data for client presentations and preparing documents for internal meetings. ChatGPT creates responses after undergoing a thorough training process on pre-existing materials.

According to reports of Deloitte’s most recent initiatives, the company wants to leverage AI for more than just task automation in order to better handle the influx of thousands of new hires every year.

After a recent hiring boom, Deloitte’s total headcount is approaching 460,000. As a result, the company is realizing that, in order to maintain its current development trajectory, people management must be approached strategically.

Rolls also cited, “Let’s imagine Deloitte was so successful and we doubled our size again, I’d be really worried about hiring a quarter of a million people a year,” in reference to the possible difficulties that could arise from sustained exponential development.

It may not be less, but it may be the same as we continue to hire.” His remarks emphasize even more how the business must find creative ways to handle the challenges of a fast growing staff in the midst of the AI revolution.
