At 4.9°C, Delhi experiences the coldest dawn of the season; Tamil Nadu is expected to have significant rain. The temperature in Delhi dropped below 5 degrees Celsius on Friday morning, making it the coldest morning of the season.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that Safdarjung, the main observatory in the nation’s capital, recorded a minimum temperature of 4.9 degrees Celsius.

The lowest reported temperatures in other parts of the city, including Lodhi Road and Ayanagar, were 5 and 6 degrees Celsius, respectively.At 4.9°C, Delhi experiences the coldest dawn of the season.

At a minimum temperature of 4.2 degrees Celsius, Hisar in Haryana was the coldest location in India’s plains.

On Friday, severe fog was reported over certain areas of Punjab and across portions of Delhi. According to the IMD, there was also shallow to moderate fog this morning in a few isolated areas of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Assam, Meghalaya, and Tripura.

According to the IMD, visibility decreased to less than 500 meters in the most of northern India.

Additionally, it stated that throughout this week, no appreciable fluctuations in temperature were anticipated in any of these places.

In certain regions of the nation, a decrease in the minimum temperature is anticipated during the course of the upcoming week.

According to IMD, Delhi is anticipated to have shallow fog during the next four days.

The IMD reports that Delhi saw its lowest temperature of the season on Thursday, at 6.2 degrees Celsius.

Nonetheless, with an AQI of 333, the national capital’s Punjabi Bagh neighborhood continued to have “very poor” air quality.

As per the CPCB’s data, the Air Quality Index (AQI) for the last 24 hours was 326, which falls under the’very poor’ category.

OTHER STATES’ WEATHER CONDITIONS

A low-pressure area or cyclonic circulation over the South Bay of Bengal was also a possibility.

The IMD predicted that both states would have light to moderate rainfall during the following two weeks.
