Gujarat BJP has finalised its plans to arrange several programmes over a fortnight to celebrate the fourth anniversary of the Narendra Modi-led NDA government at the Centre on May 26.

Addressing reporters, state BJP president Jitu Vaghani said that India has touched new highs under Modi’s leadership in the past four years.

“The country’s standing in the world has gone up under the leadership of PM Modi. The Gujarat BJP will organise several programmes including meet of intellectuals, Jan Sampark, Ghar Chalo Abhiyan, and others, between May 27 and June 11, to mark four years of Narendra Modi government at the Centre,” Vaghani said.

Reacting to the Patidar community’s reservation stir, leader Hardik Patel announced a ‘Maha Panchayat’ of Patidars on May 26. Vaghani asked the members of the community to be wary of such activities.

“This is not a Maha Panchayat of any community, but that of the Congress party. People who are leading a lavish life with Congress funds have been exposed before the community,” he said without naming Hardik.

Vaghani, who also belongs to the Patidar community, asked the Congress if it intended to give reservation to Patidars under the SC, ST or OBC quota, and dared the party to make an announcement about the same in the May 26 event.

The state BJP president also dismissed Leader of Opposition Paresh Dhanani’s allegations of irregularities in procurement of fodder as an attempt to get cheap publicity.
