UGC NET June 2024 exam cancelled: The University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test, or UGC NET 2024, was canceled by the Ministry of Education on Wednesday due to possible anomalies in the exam’s administration, as indicated by intelligence reports. It stated that there will be another exam for the Junior Research Fellowship, Assistant Professor position, and PhD program entrance.

According to the ministry, the Central Bureau of probe (CBI) would conduct a comprehensive probe on the situation.

The National Testing Agency (NTA), which administered the examination, released figures indicating that 9,08,580 candidates showed up to take it on Tuesday, June 18.

The Education Ministry noted in a news statement that the National Cyber Crime Threat Analytics Unit of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) provided information to the UGC one day following the exam, indicating that there may have been compromises to the exam’s integrity.

The Ministry of Education, Government of India, has determined to cancel the UGC-NET June 2024 Examination in order to maintain the highest standards of transparency and the sanctity of the examination process. Information will be supplied separately for a new investigation that will be performed, the ministry stated.

The revelation was made at a critical juncture, given the controversy surrounding another exam that the same organization administered.

Since its results were released earlier this month, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET 2024) for undergraduate medical admissions has generated a lot of discussion.

Numerous purported anomalies were found in the way the test was administered, including the leaking of paper and the awarding of grace marks to certain candidates.

“The issue regarding grace marks in relation to the NEET (UG) Examination-2024 has already been properly handled. A thorough report has been requested from the Bihar Police’s Economic Offenses Unit regarding certain violations that were allegedly observed during the test in Patna. After receiving this information, the government will take additional measures, according to the ministry.

Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stated on Sunday that the National Testing Agency (NTA) needs a lot of development and reiterated that no one will be left behind in the midst of the escalating demonstrations against the NEET UG exam.

His government restated in today’s statement that the strongest penalties will be meted out to any person or group discovered to be connected to the suspected violations.
