R Ashwin has made his way back to the Chennai Super Kings by joining India Cements in a highly publicized transfer transaction. As a condition of the agreement, Ashwin will assume leadership of the Chennai Super Kings High Performance Centre, which is being built on the outskirts of the city and should be operational prior to the commencement of the upcoming IPL season.

We have no control over the auction dynamics, therefore that is entirely dependent on them. CEO of CSK Kari Viswanthan stated, “We have to wait and see if the chance presents itself. First and foremost, he will be in charge of our High Performance Center and will manage all aspects of the cricket department, including the programs. He has been signed back by us. He will play for the India Cements teams in the TNCA First Division in addition to being a member of the CSK business, he continued.

The transfer of Ashwin to India Cements has been planned over the past several of years. Owner of India Cements, N Srinivasan, lavished admiration on India batsman Virat Kohlikar ahead of the IPL, during an event honoring Ashwin’s historic 500th Test wicket. “Going forward, you have a big role to play,” Srinivasan had stated at the function.

Furthermore, CSK thinks Ashwin will be crucial to advancing HPC in the near future. The HPC will serve as the franchise’s year-round training facility for its players from Chennai, Johannesburg, and Texas, as they already have academies spread around the globe.

Ashwin will be working for India Cements and CSK for the second time. Ashwin joined the team during his early IPL career and left India Cements in 2016, quickly joining Chemplast, their competitors. Then, in 2018, Ashwin moved to Take Solutions, the company that owns the Tamil Nadu Premier League team he plays for, the Dindigul Dragons.
