Andre Adams is named the bowling coach for New Zealand’s Twenty20 International Series against Pakistan. For their forthcoming five-match Twenty20 International Series against Pakistan, the men’s national cricket team of New Zealand has engaged Andre Adams as their bowling coach.
After the 2023 ODI World Cup, Shane Jurgensen resigned from his position, and this appointee took his place. Adams offers a wealth of experience to the position having previously played for New Zealand in one Test, 42 ODIs, and four T20Is.
A successful period of Adams’ coaching career was spent with the Australian domestic team New South Wales, when he played a key role in Mitchell Starc’s 2019 form comeback.
In addition, he collaborated with Auckland and the Sydney Sixers of the Big Bash League (BBL), helping Lockie Ferguson advance in his career. More recently, in September and October of last year, Adams coached the New Zealand women’s team’s fast bowling during their limited-overs tour of South Africa.
Adams will join head coach Gary Stead’s coaching staff, which also includes Luke Ronchi as the regular batting coach, according to confirmation from New Zealand Cricket (NZC).
First up for the New Zealand men’s squad will be Adams, who will start his new post in Auckland on January 12. Eden Park will host the Twenty20 International series against Pakistan on January 12.
After that, the second and third games of the series will be played in Hamilton and Dunedin, with the final two Twenty20 Internationals taking place in Christchurch.
The squad performance manager, Simon Insley, and strength and conditioning coach Chris Donaldson of New Zealand will take a break throughout the series.
Matt Long, the head of athlete development at Cricket Wellington, and Dave Meiring, the high-performance manager at Central Districts, will take up their respective roles.
