The Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduate Admissions, or CUET-UG, was administered in four topics on Thursday, according to the National Testing Agency (NTA). 79.5% of the test takers reported attending, and 72% of the exams were finished in two days.
Along with some glitches, the exam was also held in the nation’s capital on Thursday. Students reported being confused about where the exam sites were.
For the first time, the third iteration of the biggest test in the nation is being administered in hybrid format. Wednesday was set aside for the examination of four subjects: general test, biology, chemistry, and English. The computer-based assessments for the remaining subjects will take place between May 21 and 24, following the offline tests, which are scheduled for May 15–19.
The UGC chairperson, M Jagadesh Kumar, who oversees both CUET and NTA, declared, “The CUET-UG second day proceeded satisfactorily throughout India.” All around India, tests in Hindi, Economics, Mathematics, and Physics were administered. There are currently 1578 centers in use throughout India.
This makes up 27.29% of all the slots that are scheduled for students who are enrolled in traditional pen and paper mode. We have covered 72% of the total number of students who have enrolled for CUET-UG between yesterday and today. He stated, “Today’s average attendance is 79.54% higher than yesterday’s.”
Meanwhile, several students in the nation’s capital failed to download fresh admit cards and arrived at the incorrect testing locations in spite of the NTA’s reminder.
Sariq Ansari, 18, a Mustafabad, Delhi, resident, had arrived at his previous exam location in Saket. “The security guy informed me that there was no exam scheduled at the center and that I should proceed to Pushpanjali when I arrived. He remarked, “I was unaware that a fresh admission card had been issued.
“I went back home instead and wrote to the NTA about my situation because it was already too late and I could not have made it in time,” he continued.
The representations of these pupils will be “taken into consideration,” a top NTA official promised.
In the meantime, the organization advised Delhi students once more to download their new admit cards in preparation for the May 17 and 18 tests. “Candidates who are scheduled to appear for the CUET (UG) – 2024 exam in Delhi on May 17 and 18, 2024, must download a revised Admit Card from the CUET official website indicating the changed exam center. It is not necessary for candidates who downloaded their admission card after 5 PM on May 15 to do so again, according to the agency.
