SAP ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) comprises a module called SAP SD, or Sales and Distribution. The purpose of this module is to streamline and expedite an organization’s sales, distribution, and customer service business processes. The following are some of the SAP SD module’s main features and attributes.
Processing Sales Orders: From order creation to order delivery, SAP SD oversees the entire sales order process. Order entry, pricing, availability check, and credit management are some of its features.
Customer management: This module supports the upkeep of customer master data, interaction tracking, inquiry management, and complaint handling.
Transportation and Shipping: SAP SD manages all aspects of transportation and shipping, including product selection, packing, and delivery. For effective logistics, it also integrates with transportation management.
Revenue Recognition: By integrating with other financial modules of the SAP ERP system, SAP SD makes revenue recognition easier.
Reporting and Analytics: To analyze sales performance, track order status, and keep an eye on key performance indicators, this module provides a number of reporting tools.
SAP SD facilitates Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) to enable electronic communication with clients and partners, thereby optimizing document exchange procedures.
