“Upset” Mikel Arteta denies reports that he is leaving Arsenal, saying they are entirely untrue. Mikel Arteta has denied suggestions that he will leave Arsenal at the conclusion of the season and expressed his disappointment at reading them.
On Sunday, there were reports in Spain that Arteta had informed his entourage that he intended to leave the Gunners at the conclusion of the season.
As Xavi announced his decision to step down at the end of the current campaign, numerous Spanish media sites connected the former midfielder to the position of manager at Barcelona.
Arteta, however, has since vehemently refuted the rumors and expressed his displeasure with the information.
Speaking at the press conference ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Nottingham Forest, the Gunners boss called the reports as fake and untrue. Arteta expressed his disbelief in seeing those reports and claimed it had no sources.
“No. That’s totally fake news. I don’t know where it is coming from, it’s totally untrue and I’m very upset about it,” said Arteta, as quoted by Sky Sports. “I could not believe it. It has no sources. You have to be cautious when you write things in the way it was yesterday.”

Arteta continued by restating his dedication to Arsenal, stating that he is enjoying his experience with the team and believes he is in the right position. Additionally, the Spanish strategist stated that, when the moment is appropriate, he will meet with the club to renegotiate his contract.
“I feel like I’m in the correct position right now. There is still a long way to go on this trip that I am embarking on with this group. My relationship with the board is solid.”
