After three matches, was he really that exhausted? Ajay Jadeja criticizes management for treating Ishan Kishan unfairly. Ishan Kishan was rested from the last two Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). Former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja has blasted the Indian team management for treating Kishan unfairly.
“Immediately following the World Cup, there was a series. After playing three matches, Ishan Kishan returned home and rested. After three games, was he really so exhausted that he needed to rest? Jadeja asked on Sports Tak.
“He didn’t even participate in many World Cup matches. He was rightfully included in the starting lineup for the opening World Cup games. On a good day, how many Indian players have amassed a double century? Jadeja enquired.
Kishan warmed the bench during the campaign after playing in the first two matches of the ODI World Cup. Ishan was then rested for the final two matches of the recently finished T20I series. In his three appearances, the 25-year-old has scored two fifties.
Ishan Kishan did not participate in the full five-match Twenty20 International series versus Australia. After three matches, he was sent home to rest. So, how will you make sure he is prepared if this keeps happening? stated Jadeja.
Even though he hasn’t received many opportunities, Kishan has consistently played for the team. Ishan Kishan’s selfless attitude has garnered praise from India’s off-spinner R Ashwin.
“Ishan Kishan has a very positive outlook. When he plays well, I’m glad. Ashwin had posted on his YouTube channel, “He’s someone who makes everyone happy, he keeps every player’s bat, gloves, and helmets ready and never complains when he sits out.”
Kishan is a member of the Test and T20I teams traveling with India to South Africa.
