The Indian squash athletes kept up their remarkable performance at the Asian Games on Wednesday, winning easily in both the men’s and women’s team competitions.

The men defeated Kuwait, while the women’s squad crushed Nepal. Both teams triumphed by identical scores of 3-0.

15-year-old Anahat Singh easily defeated Krishna Thapa in the opening match 11-7 11-1 11-2, while Joshna Chinappa defeated Bipanna Bhalon 11-4 11-2 11-2.

The Pool B match was then concluded by Dipika Pallikal defeating Swasthani Shrestha with ease, 11-1, 11-3, and 11-2.

Tuesday’s opening pool game saw the Indian women’s team blank Pakistan 3-0.

Indian women in Pool B are matched with Malaysia, Macau, China, Pakistan, and Nepal as third seeds.

In Pool A, the Indian men’s team shut out Kuwait to extend its winning streak.

In the opening match, Abhay Singh defeated Ali Al-Ramezi 11-7 11-6 11-6.

When Abdullah Almezayen withdrew due to injury against veteran Saurav Ghosal, who was competing in his sixth Asian Games, India trailed by two games to one.

To win the event, Mahesh Mangaonkar defeated Falah Mohammad 11-7 11-1 11-2 in the final match.

Later in the day, the Indian men’s team will take on Pakistan, while the Indian women’s team will play Macau.

The top two teams from each pool advance to the semifinals.

India, the top seed in the men’s competition, defeated Singapore and Qatar 3-0 in their first two matches on Tuesday.

Nepal is the other squad in Pool A.

A bronze medal was previously won by the Ghoshal-led squad.

The squad is aiming for the top of the podium here after winning the gold back in 2014.
