The President’s Gold Medal went to Archit Babuna (BTech Computer Science and Engineering), while the Director’s Gold Medal went to Aditya Vimal (BTech Civil Engineering).

Nearly 2,350 graduating students will receive their degrees at the 54th convocation event held by the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT-D) today.

A total of 2,357 students received degrees, including those from the joint PhD programme with the University of Queensland in Australia and the MTech in Electric Mobility, Interdisciplinary MTech in Cyber Security, Masters in Public Policy, and Master of Science in Research (MSR) in Materials Science and Engineering.

The President’s Gold Medal went to Archit Babuna (BTech Computer Science and Engineering), while the Director’s Gold Medal went to Aditya Vimal (BTech Civil Engineering). Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma (Former President of India), who received an MTech in Applied Optics, presented Dibya Jyoti Sarangi with the Gold Medal.

The Perfect Ten Gold Medal was awarded to three students: Mahajan Swapnil Dashrath (Meenal), MTech in Polymer Science and Technology; Narayani Bhatia, MS (R) in Electrical Engineering; and Ashitha Devi Pattabi, MS (R) in Materials Science and Engineering.

The main guest during the convocation was Dr. Gagandeep Kang, a virologist and professor of microbiology at Christian Medical College, Vellore.

Alumni of the Institute were also given Alumni Awards 2023. Ashutosh Sabharwal (Professor at Rich University in Houston), Pawan Kumar Jain (MD at INOX Air Products), Nalin Shinghal (CMD at BHEL), Aarti Gupta (Professor at Princeton University), and Gurtej S. Sandhu (Senior Fellow and VP at Micron Technology) are the recipients of the distinguished alumni award.

Aayush Jain, an assistant professor at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, and Ananth Govind Rajan, an assistant professor at IISc Bengaluru, have been selected as the alumni for the “Graduates of Last Decade” (GOLD) award.
