Owaisi’s AIMIM Party entry In Gujarat: Activists and intellectuals are sharply divided about his political ideology

Close on the heels of AIMIM’s entry in Gujarat, Baroda based octogenarian human rights activist and educationist Dr.J.S. Bandulwala clearly told that the rise of the AIMIM in national politics may be harmful to the Muslims of India. Barrister Owaisi is modelling his politics on that of Jinnah, almost a century ago. His appeal is limited to the Muslims of India. He can best play a role by splitting Muslim votes, to the advantage of BJP.
This can be critical in states like West Bengal, where caste factors also favour such a splitting. But the coming days are crucial for the Muslims of India. We have seen the effects of such politics on the isolation of Muslims in Bihar recently.It could get worse in factors also favour such a splitting, he added, while talking with Gujarat siyasat.
Dr. Bandulwala expressed concern that It could get worse in states like UP, which has already faced the worst effects of communal polarization. The politics of Owaisi can benefit only communal system in our country. Remember Muslims are still paying a most heavy price for the politics of Jinnah.
Swaraj India’s yodendra yadav opined that this rise of Muslim exclusive politics at the national stage could well be the perfect partner that Hindu majoritarian politics has been waiting for. This would mean absence of any political incentives to bridge the Hindu-Muslim divide on either side. By voting the BJP to power again, the Hindu majority has already rejected secular politics. If the minorities, too, find it useless, that is the end of the idea of secular India inscribed into our Constitution. Secular politics must respond to this danger by transforming itself. It does not have much time.
Ahmedabad based Democratic Minority Forum Convener and social activist Danish Qureshi is on other side. Talking with Gujarat siyasat, He strongly advocated that Muslim dominated political parties like AIMIM and SDPI will change the future of Muslim politics. These parties can put Muslims in a position from Begging to Bargaining. So Now It is essential for the community to think about the political options like SDPI or AIMIM because this is the last chance to raise minority voice in democratic set up.
He added that Muslims are being continuously looted,raped and made migrants In more the 15000 Riots including 2002 in the era Of Secularism in Independent India. This all happened because Muslims have no strong political representation from Panchayat to parliament.

Said that entry of AIMIM in Gujarat and some other states will give self respect and dignity to Muslims and other underprivileged sections of society. So called secular parties never stand with these segments of society even to solve genuine problems. Congress leaders are loyal to their leadership only in Gujarat, party’s MLAs never raise their voice on Muslim issues.
He lamented that this is not secularism. Actually all parties are playing their own politics. On the pretext of secularism, Muslims are being cheated for the past many decades.It is not responsibility to save secularism on Muslim’s only. It is high time that they must have their voice at various forums,
People are afraid that if AIMIM come to Gujarat, BJP will be benefited, but he said that in the last two Loksabha elections in Gujarat, BJP won all 26 seats. At that time there was no MIM. If you allege that MIM is BJP’s B team, prove it first, he added.
Talking with Gujarat siyasat, Mujaheed Nafees– convener of Minority Coordination Committe (MCC),said it is good that a political party keep focus on Muslims and other downtrodden people. Muslims sidelined by main stream system, communalism is on peak, subject of Inclusion is too far. When political parties basis on caste, religion are in main stream so it’s common thing that a time Muslim also urged for their political representation.
I don’t see any wrong in Asaduddin owaisi. He is wise and good narrator which address the sentiments of marginalized communities. He is from Telangana, he may be the national leader but question of Gujarat is they need good faces, leadership from Gujarat who can lead the masses with clear political vision, he concluded.
