Assembly election is likely in October

Bihar assembly elections are due in October this year. There are some telling signs too. The political situation has become murkier. Things are also bad for the current ruling JDU-BJP combine. Frustrated flood-affected voters of North Bihar particularly have started venting out their anger against the ruling combine politicians. A BJP member of parliament has been beaten recently by the voters of his constituency.

The fear among the ruling party politicians is such that they are moving around after removing their party flags. It’s good that people have started beating up and killing ruling party politicians for fooling them and failing to deliver all that they had promised.

Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar has failed miserably on all fronts and is going to be defeated in the elections if RJD leader Tejasvi Yadav plays his cards well. Bihar needs a youthful leadership. Currently, Tejasvi Yadav and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) leader Chirag Paswan hold great promise for the state.

It is true that Tejasvi Yadav had failed to prove his leadership mettle during the parliamentary elections and no RJD leader could make it to the Lok Sabha. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the entire political scenario now. JDU chief and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar has proved to be a liability and a burden on the state exchequer. Health infrastructure has completely collapsed and Coronavirus-affected people have been left to fend for themselves and are at the mercy of God, and many of them have already died and continuously succumbing to the disease.

I now strongly feel that Tejasvi Yadav must be given a chance once again and hope that he should not repeat his past mistake of being a sell-out at the hands of BJP by fielding weak candidates as he did during parliamentary elections.

It is high time that both the promising youthful leaders Tejasvi Yadav and Chirag Paswan should come together for the sake of Bihar and form a Mahagathbandhan Patna comprising of JDU+LJP+Congress Party and other like-minded fringe political groups. I foresee a clean sweep if a formidable combine of Yadavs, OBCs, MBCs and Muslims come out strongly and vote en masse.

Tejasvi Yadav should make wholehearted efforts towards bringing LJP as a vital constituent of the Mahagathbandhan. Bihar desperately needs to come out of the morass it is currently in and should get deliverance from the misrule of the JDU-BJP combine.  (From Danishkhan’s FB wall)
