Offering both higher education and vocational training, The Ara Institute of Canterbury Limited is one of New Zealand’s top providers of postsecondary education. Aoraki Polytechnic and Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology (CPIT) merged to form Ara in 2016, with the goal of providing industry- and student-driven, high-quality education.
Programs: Ara provides a variety of credentials, such as degrees, certificates, diplomas, and postgraduate courses. Business, engineering, information technology, health, hospitality, creative industries, trades, and more are among the fields of study.

Regional Campuses: Ara has regional campuses in Timaru, Ashburton, and Oamaru in addition to its main campus in Christchurch. These sites provide access to postsecondary education throughout the region and offer essential educational services to smaller communities.
Programs in business administration, management, accounting, and marketing are available in the school of business.
The School of Health Practice offers instruction in medical imaging, nursing, midwifery, and other health-related subjects.
The School of Engineering and Architecture focuses on electrical, mechanical, and civil engineering as well as architectural technology.
