SAP HCM

Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing (SAP) offers a comprehensive human resource management solution known as SAP HCM, or SAP Human Capital Management. It is intended to support businesses in successfully and efficiently managing their human resources. A number of modules under SAP HCM handle different aspects of HR. In January 2022, I last updated my knowledge. SAP SuccessFactors, the company’s cloud-based HR solution, has been replacing the SAP HCM suite.

Among the main features and modules of SAP HCM (on-premise) are:

Organisational Management (OM): This module aids in the definition and administration of organisational components, including organisational units and reporting hierarchies.

Personnel Administration (PA): PA is in charge of maintaining master data on employees, which includes private and work-related information.

 Extensive exposure in functional specification writing and understating user’s complex

requirements.

 Good experience in SAP HR functional configurations mainly on PA/PY and TM

 Implement business requirements and perform fit gap analysis between clients

 Expertise in Rules (PCR) and Schemas.

 Exposure in structural and functional enhancements to data sources with necessary user-exits for

master

 Defined attendance/absence types, counting rules, time constraint settings.

 Created rules for Overtime calculations on daily, weekly and biweekly basis.

 Created custom defined PCR’s for absence and attendance wage type generation through time

evaluation.

 Maintained the Processing class and Evaluation Class

 5+ years experience in a business or functional analyst role with a minimum of 2 years

experience researching SAP HR Payroll related issues, developing process maps, completing

configuration, creating technical development specs, performing application testing, gathering

business requirements, and handling change management activities in support of SAP HR Payroll

processes.

 General knowledge of functionality, tools and methods used within the HR Payroll Module

 General knowledge of core functionality within the SAP HCM Module as well as cross module

awareness within the SAP ERP Application

 Awareness of consistent user experience with other SAP transactions

 Experience with SAP tools (e.g. LSMW, workflow, portal)

 Technical Knowledge (strongly Preferred)

 Working knowledge of configuration for the SAP Payroll Module and its integration points with

all other SAP modules as well as ESS and MSS.

 Experience with SAP workflow

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Experience in –
  • Experience in SAP Time Management – Positive & Negative
  • Experience in Work Schedule Rules, Holiday Calendars, Substitutions, Absence Valuation, Time Wage type selection rules.
  • Experience in creating and defining custom operations and rules
  • Experience with Yearend activities and support packs implementation.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Minimum 6 years total IT experience, preferably in SAP HCM.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in design and configuration of Time Management (Positive Time Mandatory).

Required Education

Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s/College Degree , Computer Science/Information Technology, Science & Technology or equivalent.
