“Aggressive” Rajat Patidar discusses Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma’s influence prior to his possible debut in Vizag. Rajat Patidar, a batter from Madhya Pradesh, may make his Test debut against England in the series’ second game in Vizag.
After making his ODI debut for India, Patidar has stated that he is eager to learn whether he will play his maiden match for the whites on Friday, February 2.
Speaking via a Board of Control for Cricket in India video prior to the second Test match, Patidar expressed how exciting it was to receive his maiden Test call-up.
Due to an Achilles Heel ailment, the hitter missed a significant portion of the 2023 season due to injury. The Royal Challengers Bangalore team suffered a severe setback when they discovered that the batter had missed the Indian Premier League.
“The best part of my comeback has got to be receiving my first test call-up. Playing Test cricket for my country is my goal. That call seemed like a dream come true. “It felt great to be playing India A matches,” Rajat Patidar remarked in a BCCI interview.
It will be expected of the hitter to add force to counter spin bowling. Speaking about his time spent with the India team, Patidar claimed to have picked up trade secrets from Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid.
“I’ve competed in numerous domestic matches against some of the Indian players. Rahul Dravid, sir, and I have been communicating for the past two series. Although I haven’t talked to Rohit Sharma much, I have heard him discuss how to bat in various situations during this tour. That boosts my confidence a lot,” Patidar remarked.
Which player makes his Indian debut, Sarfaraz or Patidar?
By trade, Patida is an aggressive batter, and he declared that he will rely on his inherent abilities while incorporating some strategies from India skipper Rohit Sharma.
“Since my debut in domestic cricket, I have batted with an aggressive approach. I haven’t really changed; I just play that way out of habit. With Rohit Sharma, I am learning how to handle field assignments,” Rajat Patidar continued.
The batter responded that there was a lot to learn from observing Virat Kohli when asked about learning cricket. When Virat Kohli bats in the nets, Patidar disclosed, he takes sure to stand behind and concentrate on his technique.
“I stand behind Virat Kohli and observe his actions whenever he bats in the nets. I’m trying to add constantly, especially with his footwork and body movement against the balls pitched up to him,” Patidar said.
