The air quality in Delhi surpasses 400 on Republic Day. The Air Quality Index (AQI) for Delhi exceeded 400 on Friday; around 4 pm, the AQI was recorded at 409.

On Friday, the AQI was recorded at 374 at 9 am and grew worse throughout the day, peaking at 409 at 4 pm.

The subcommittee on Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) of the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) convened an emergency meeting on Friday to review the current air quality scenario, the weather forecast, and the Indian Meteorological Department’s (IMD) projected air quality index.The air quality in Delhi surpasses 400 on Republic Day.

The subcommittee on Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) of the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) convened an emergency meeting on Friday to review the current air quality scenario, the weather forecast, and the Indian Meteorological Department’s (IMD) projected air quality index.

As a result, the subcommittee resolved to keep an eye on the situation before deciding whether to invoke strict measures under Stage-III of GRAP.

For the time being, the ongoing preventive restrictive measures put in place under GRAP Stages I and II will remain in effect.
