According to Sanjay Manjrekar, Prasidh Krishna would have been benched during the Virat Kohli-Ravi Shastri period.
After the completion of India’s opening Test match against South Africa, Sanjay Manjrekar stated that bowler Prasidh Krishna would have been dropped during the Virat Kohli-Rohit Sharma era.
Prasidh’s first Test match in Centurion wasn’t easy. After conceding 93 runs in the first two innings of the match, the pacer managed to claim just one wicket.
Manjrekar contended that Indian cricket supporters might want to watch Mukesh Kumar play in the second Test match and would not be upset if Prasidh was benched.
I don’t think very many people will be upset if Mukesh Kumar plays. The new management is concerned about providing Prasidh Krishana a fair run, so they will be observing how he bowls in the nets and determining whether it is fair to him.
The squad management from before would have been brutal. “People like Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri were easily triggered by such things,” Manjrekar stated in an ESPNcricinfo interview.
The former cricket player from India countered that Rahul Dravid’s management may decide to change course and give the rookie one more opportunity to establish his value in Test matches.
In addition to Prasidh, Shardul Thakur’s play with the ball was questioned. Given that Thakur can bat as well, particularly in foreign conditions, Manjrekar thinks he will stay in the Indian squad.
“The reason Shadul Thakur plays is that he can bat. Shardul Thakur tends to make the playing XI because India is always a little apprehensive about their batting, and you saw why India is a bit apprehensive about their batting,” the former cricketer from India said. “He plays notably in foreign conditions.”
