As Inter Miami signs Uruguayan sensation Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi will rejoin with Suarez. Luis Suarez, a member of the legendary MSN trio and a close friend of Lionel Messi, will shortly join him after signing a contract with Inter Miami on Friday.
Along with Neymar, Suarez and Messi comprised Barcelona’s lethal attacking trio, which helped the Catalan giants achieve the historic treble in the 2014–15 campaign.
“We are thrilled to have Luis join our Club as a player of his caliber and dedication to the game. David Beckham, a co-owner of Inter Miami, said, “He joins a team that is inspiring the next generation, and we look forward to seeing him take the field with both former teammates and young players from our Academy.”
Alongside Messi, Suarez won the La Liga five times. His contract with Major League Soccer (MLS) runs through 2024.
“I’m thrilled and eager to tackle this new task with Inter Miami. I’m eager to get going and prepared to work hard to realize my goal of winning additional trophies with this outstanding Club.
I have hope for the things we can do as a team with our common goal. When I wear Inter Miami colors, I will do everything in my power to cheer up these amazing supporters that I have heard so much about.
I am also looking forward to getting back again with amazing friends and players. I can’t wait to get to know my new coaches and teammates,” Suarez added.
Along with Messi, Suárez will rejoin former Barcelona teammates Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets at Inter Miami, where they together won a UEFA Champions League trophy and four La Liga titles in five seasons.
Suarez signed with Barcelona in 2014 and remained a player there until 2020, during which time he amassed an incredible 195 goals and 113 assists in 283 games. Prior to that, he played for Liverpool in the Premier League, making 133 appearances while contributing 46 assists and 82 goals.
