SA vs. IND: Mohammed Siraj receives the Impact fielder medal, and India’s post-ODI World Cup celebration continues. Following India’s 106-run victory over South Africa at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, fielding coach T Dilip awarded fast-bowler Mohammed Siraj the Impact Fielder medal.

The first edition of the three-match Twenty20 International series was abandoned due to severe rain, while South Africa won the second match by a margin of five wickets. The series concluded in a 1-1 draw.
Speaking to the players in the locker room following the game, Dilip reaffirmed that the team would carry on the custom of awarding fielding medals.
The medals would be awarded following each series instead of each game, as they were in the just finished ODI World Cup, which is one modification to the ceremony. The “Impact Fielder of the Series” would now get the new medal.
After that, Dilip named the three medal contenders, praising Rinku Singh for his “effort and awareness” on the field. Yashasvi Jaiswal, the opener, was subsequently announced as the second contender, with the statement that he has been “taking crucial catches by being at the right positions and right places.”
Siraj was later announced as the third candidate for the prize, and he was praised for having “amazing skillset despite being a fast-bowler.” Ultimately, Dilip gave Siraj the medal and remarked that he continues to field with the same tenacity as he did during the ODI World Cup.
