Certain regions of Kerala and Tamil Nadu saw rain on Saturday. There was 2 cm of rain in Tirunelveli and Coonoor, Tamil Nadu, and 3 cm in Vadavathoor, Kerala.

Chennai’s educational institutions have been closed since December 4 due to heavy rains that caused flooding in many areas.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin responded to the difficulties faced by the people on Saturday by pledging financial assistance, as each impacted family in Chennai was guaranteed an immediate sum of Rs 6,000.

Nonetheless, there have been requests to raise the amount of relief. K Annamalai, the president of the Tamil Nadu BJP, is pressuring the government to increase aid to Rs 10,000 for each impacted family, emphasizing the need for more assistance.

He stated, “The state government didn’t contribute a single penny towards the relief fund.”
