In an attack on Paris St Germain, Lionel Messi claims that the French club failed to acknowledge him after he returned from helping Argentina win the FIFA World Cup.
Messi relocated to the United States and joined Inter Miami after leaving the Paris club during the summer transfer window. Messi played from 2021 to 2023 for the French team.
The Argentine superstar sat down for an interview with a Spanish livestreaming YouTube channel where he discussed his time with PSG, particularly after he helped Argentine defeat France in the World Cup final. He is currently recovering from an injury that forced him to leave the field before halftime in Miami’s most recent game
“I was the only Argentine player on the team whose name his club didn’t recognize. But it’s alright,” said Messi in an interview with OLGA in Vivo, before adding: “But it’s also natural because I was in the nation against which we had won the final and kept them from winning the World Cup again. The reality is that I got along well with everyone there, including him (France’s Kylian Mbappe).
There were tense moments before his departure from the team when PSG supporters booed him and clapped for his teammate Mbappe.
Things “happen for a reason,” as I always say, stated Messi. While there, I won the World Cup, however it wasn’t always for the best.
