IIT Jammu Placements: Examine highest CTC, growing batch size, declining average compensation

The quantity of offers hasn’t been rising consistently. While there were 61 offers in 2019–20, 95 in 2020–21, 230 in 2021–22, and 224 in 2022–23, there were less offers in 2022–23.

A “Institute of National Importance” according to the “Institutes of Technology Act” of 1961, IIT Jammu is one of these institutions.

The highest CTC offered in postings has steadily increased, according to the Indian Institute of Technology, Jammu. The average CTC has been declining, nevertheless.

The Union Budget 2014–15 included plans to create IIT Jammu, which opened its doors on August 6, 2016. With early supervision from IIT Delhi, IIT Jammu welcomed the first batch of students to the campus in Paloura, Jammu.

IIT Jammu’s batch size climbed from 79 in its early years to 253 in 2022–2023. Also rising from 78 in 2019–20 to 103 in 2020–21, 153 in 2021–22, and 222 in 2022–23 was the number of enrolled students.

Only 39 organisations came to campus the first year for the placement season, but that number rose steadily to 91 in 2020–21, 118 in 2021–22, and 129 in 2022–23. The number of bids, however, has not been rising continuously; it decreased to 224 in 2022–23 from 61 in 2019–20, 95 in 2020–21, and 230 in 2021–22.

The average CTC fell to Rs. 11.36 lakh per year in 2020–21 from Rs. 12.28 lakh in 2019–20. The average CTC did, however, significantly rise to Rs 19.34 lakh per year in 2021–2022 before falling back to Rs 17 lakh in 2022–2023.
