The mission carries scientific payloads from PRL that will aid in determining the temperature and chemical makeup of the lunar surface. SAC produced the cameras and sensors that are essential to the Lander’s descent and assisted in choosing the landing region, which is 4 km x 2.4 km.

The Chandrayaan-3 Moon mission, which is scheduled to land on the unexplored lunar south pole on Wednesday (August 23) evening, has benefited greatly from the work of the Physical Research Laboratory (PRL) and the Space Applications Centre (SAC) of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). The father of India’s space effort, Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, created both universities in Ahmedabad.
