Trump was not a President material! His winning in 2016 to become 45th President was an accident, and his loss in the 2020 re-election bid was his performance report card and if he got removed from his presidency days before the expiry of his tenure is a debt long due.
On January 6, Americans discovered in horror what they failed to either understand or to accept that Trump is a dangerous man for the country. Nothing is safe, not the Nuclear arsenal, not the Democracy, and certainly not the lives and property of Americans. Suddenly, law and order which was taken for granted in the first world remained no more, the most important symbol after the White House, the Capitol Hill came under attack. It was orchestrated by none but the President of the country.
The attack was vicious and deadly. It was meticulously planned to inflict maximum damage and to cause maximum loss of lives. If no senator, congressmen, and congresswomen got killed was a pure stroke of luck. A shiver runs down my spine thinking of the consequences of the political massacre had they succeeded. Can a crime of this magnitude go unpunished, no matter who was behind it? NO!
The details of the planning, the purpose of the attack, and the damage caused is only getting to the surface after days. Five people have lost their lives including two police officers Brian Sicknick and Howard Liebengood on duty trying to protect American democracy. President of America, after losing the election would like to overturn the results through brute street force of thugs and criminals is not even plausible in a Hollywood thriller, let alone in reality. But, it is a fact, it did happen and now it is part of American history to be taught in schools for centuries to come.
Trump has 10 more days left as President, but after what happened on January 6, the US Congress, Senate, and American public realized that keeping Trump on this most powerful job even for a day is unsafe and dangerous for the country and the world. First thing on Monday, January 11, US Congress plans to impeach him for a second time in his first tenure, a dubious and unique distinction in the history of United States of America. Most probably he will be kicked out of the White House and his job before his tenure expires at 8 AM on January 20, 2021.
The best option for him is to resign and hand over the reign to Vice President Pence, this might save him the ignominy of either being impeached or being removed through the 25th Amendment.
What is in store for him after becoming a citizen and losing all the protection he had as President? There are tens of cases pending against him from rape to tax evasion. There seems to be strong evidence to indict him, on all or some of these charges. The interesting thing would be to see how will he be treated if he is found guilty of a crime which is punishable and requires serving behind bars. If he gets a sentence, it will prove to everyone that none is above the law in America. This would be a reassuring message for all Americans that none should ever dare to subvert the constitution of the land.
