ROGER FEDERER’s agent, Tony Godsick, has lifted the lid on the 20-time Grand Slam winner’s hectic lifestyle.

Federer lost in the final of the Indian Wells Masters on Sunday in a thrilling clash against Juan Martin del Potro.

And after just five hours sleep he flew over to Chicago to promote his own tennis tournament later this year – the Laver Cup.

The Swiss star then started to prepare for the Miami Open which gets underway this afternoon – although he will be grateful for receiving a first-round bye.

However, at 36 years old there must become a time when the Tour puts a little too much strain on the player and their family.

But Godsick insists even he is surprised by how well Federer continues to adjust to life on the road.

“Roger’s life, if it’s not hectic, it’s not Roger’s life, because it’s all he knows,” Godsick told the New York Times.

“He would have been up early anyway today because he’s got four kids, and they are still adjusting from European time.

“He also had to get to Miami. We spend a lot of time maximising time, because he doesn’t have that much time.

“This is a four-hour detour. There are worse things to do, but sure it’s hard.”

Federer will face the winner of Calvin Hemery and Thanasi Kokkinakis in the second round of the Miami Open later this week.
