MP youngster achieves the highest-ever score in JEE Advanced, increasing the pass rate. This year, there was an increase in the pass percentage and qualifying cut-offs for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced, the single window test for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

Officials reported that Ved Lahoti from the Delhi zone scored the highest ever on the exam, 355 out of 360. According to the results released on Sunday, a total of 48,248 students have been deemed eligible for admission to the 17,740 seats that are available at 23 IITs.

1,80,200 applicants in total showed up for the May 26 admission exam. This year, the pass percentage was 26.77%. It decreased from 26.17 percent in 2022 to 24.26 percent the previous year.

With an overall score of 332, Dwija Patel from the IIT Bombay zone came in first place among female candidates. She has a 7 overall in India. Patel and Lahoti, the leading scorer overall, employed different tactics.

Lahoti, who is originally from Madhya Pradesh, studied in Kota, a coaching center in Rajasthan, for the admission exam. “To pass an exam like JEE Advanced, you need a healthy dose of competition mixed with positive pressure,” Lahoti, a single man in Kota who gets visits from his mother every two months, stated.

Meanwhile, Dwija got ready at home. If you move to a different location, it will take some time for you to become used to the new setup. You can merely concentrate on studying at home. In order to live peacefully at home, I enrolled in a local coaching program,” she stated.

Ved and Dwija, like many others on the JEE Advanced all-India merit list, want to be admitted to IIT Bombay’s Computer Science Engineering department. The majority of toppers want to work at IIT Bombay.

With 145 out of 11,180 eligible candidates, the IIT Madras zone contributes the most to the top 500. This zone is also home to four of the top ten.

The Madras zone, sometimes referred to as the IIT Hyderabad zone and consisting of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Puducherry, was the primary source of qualified applicants for JEE Advanced 2023. 10,432 qualifying candidates from this zone were present in the previous year; 174 of them were in the top 500, and six of them were in the top 10.

This year’s qualifying candidates are divided among seven zones, with 10,255 coming from the IIT Delhi zone and 9,480 from the IIT Bombay zone. 5,136 students from the IIT Roorkee zone, 4,928 from the IIT Kanpur zone, 4,811 from the IIT Bhubaneshwar zone, and 2,458 from the IIT Guwahati zone have qualified.

7,964 girls out of 48,248 students who passed JEE Advanced this year are female. From thirteen last year, there were just seven international candidates who passed the exam this year. 179 candidates are in the OCI/PIO category.

Information released by IIT Madras, the IIT hosting JEE Advanced this year, indicates that prepayment would be available for the Joint Seat Allotment Authority counseling procedure. It stated in a statement that “Candidates can pay their fees before “mock round” and seat allotment starts.”
