SAP PI/PO
Middleware solutions created by SAP for integrating diverse systems, applications, and data across an enterprise include SAP PI (Process Integration) and SAP PO (Process Orchestration). By using these technologies, firms can exchange data, streamline their internal communications, and connect various software programmes and systems.
The forerunner of SAP PO was SAP PI (Process Integration), also known as SAP NetWeaver Process Integration. Regardless of the technologies and platforms they are based on, this enterprise application integration (EAI) software enables organisations to combine many applications and systems. Data transformation, routing, and monitoring were all possible with the widely used integration platform SAP PI.
Process orchestration software, or SAP PO, is a development of SAP PI. Business Process Management (BPM) and Business Rules Management (BRM) capabilities are added on top of the SAP PI functionalities. There are three primary parts of SAP PO.
You can build and set up integration scenarios using the Integration Builder component, including message mappings, interfaces, and communication channels.
Advanced Adapter Engine: Through multiple adapters, the Advanced Adapter Engine manages connection with many systems and applications. It supports a large number of communication standards and protocols.
BPM and BRM: A BPM and BRM component is a part of SAP PO that enables the modelling and execution of business rules and processes.
SAP PI/PO is frequently used to connect multiple applications and data sources throughout the organisation by integrating SAP systems with non-SAP systems. It supports several different communication channels, such as synchronous calls, asynchronous messaging, and file-based integration.
