They say patience is a virtue, but politics and patience do not really go hand in hand. And when the ‘result’ of a ‘battle’ hangs in balance for the past ten months, there are bound to be murmurs of yet another ‘rebellion’.

On August 16, 2020, Sonia Gandhi had appointed a three-member panel to oversee the Rajasthan crisis. The committee, consisting of Ahmed Patel, KC Venugopal and Ajay Maken, met once and became defunct after Patel’s demise in November 2020. Sonia Gandhi is yet to appoint Patel’s replacement.

Now with unlocking process starting in the state as covid infection in going down, the internal strife betwen the Gehlot-Pilot camps appears to be ‘unlocking’ yet again!

After the rebellion of the Sachin Pilot camp last year, the camp has started protesting once again as the much awaited report of the three-member Conciliation Committee formed by the Congress high command is not yet ‘received’.

Keeping silent of the issue for nearly a year, former Deputy CM and PCC Chief Sachin Pilot has expressed his displeasure over non-fulfillment of the promises made to him.

In an interview to an English daily, Pilot has reminded the high command of the 10 months old promise. Pilot has openly expressed his displeasure and said that it has been 10 months and the promises made to him have not been fulfilled.

“I was explained that the conciliation committee would take action expeditiously, but half the term is over and those issues are still unresolved. It is unfortunate that the workers who worked day and night and put their all to bring the party to power are not being heard,” he said. Earlier, Pilot had said on April 14 that there was no reason for the delay in meeting the resolution of the committee.

He said that Ajay Maken’s committee could not even do anything. “Committee member Venugopal is also a Rajya Sabha MP from Rajasthan but he has not visited Rajasthan for six months. While Maken kept coming to Rajasthan and kept on telling the dates of political appointments but the committee is inactive for 6 months and the issues could not be resolved even after 10 months,” Pilot has said.

Now an important question arises in all this scenario as to what will be the next step of Pilot. Will he speak bluntly to the high command or adopt some other way?

Pilot’s statement has come at a time when one of his supporters, Hemaram Choudhary, has resigned on May 18 over the issue of neglecting development works in the area. Two days ago, Pilot camp MLA PR Meena praised CM Ashok Gehlot but later said that he was with Pilot.

where Gehlot will have to use political acumen to appease party workers. There are nine berths to be filled and it will be an acid test for the astute Gandhian and Congress strongman. He will have to use his clout and tactic to get his way while maintaining truce all over.

Apart from his loyalists, Gehlot will also have to accommodate Pilot loyalists. In order to hasten up things, Pilot had stated in April that there was no reason for any delay on the issues which were sorted out unanimously in the committee formed by the party high command.

Meanwhile,There are talks of a massive reshuffle in the All India Congress Committee (AICC) and sources say many state PCC chiefs from the Northeastern states, West Bengal, Kerala, Gujarat, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh could be replaced, and state in-charges from election bound states like Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Uttarakhand may be sent back to their home states for poll preparations.
