Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel (CAU), the official name of the University of Kiel, is a public university in Kiel, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Founded by Duke Christian Albrecht of Holstein-Gottorp in 1665, this university is among the oldest in Germany.
