Following their victory over Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh in the England series, Ashwin and Jadeja are now India’s most successful bowling combination in Test matches.
All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja of India sent R. Ashwin a special message of congratulations on his 100 Tests and 500 wickets, referencing their legendary collaboration in Test cricket for India.
The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) in Chennai honoured Ashwin, the first player from Tamil Nadu to achieve both milestones during the recently finished home Test series against England, as Jadeja’s message appeared on the screen.
“Hello Ash Anna, congrats on 500 Test wickets and your 100th Test match. You have made an incredible contribution to Indian cricket, and for that, I am incredibly delighted for you. In the footage from a Chennai Super Kings training session, Jadeja remarked, “You can continue taking a lot of wickets and sharing your mastermind with me so that I can also take a few wickets and become a great legend like you.”
